EMBS and MARS will work more closely together
Added on 2009-09-18 14:19:00 by Hummel, Herman

The Committee of the European Marine Biology Symposium (EMBS) has decided unanimously on Tuesday 8 September 2009 in Liverpool, UK, to strengthen the links with MARS.

For several years the boards of MARS and of the EMBS (the European Marine Biology Symposium) have been discussing such a stronger relationship. Several arguments in favor of such a cooperation could be brought forward, however, a major drawback in losing the informal character was often felt at the side of the EMBS. Nevertheless, each of the partners recognized the importance of an open communication on, and the promotion of, marine sciences in Europe. At the end, the added value of a stronger cooperation between MARS and EMBS was prevailing.
